About Michalis Georgiou

Michalis Georgiou, MBA Wine, is a Cyprus-based wine professional whose work spans consulting, journalism, education, and international judging. This website is the editorial home of his practice — a single, curated record of the competitions he has judged, the publications he has written, the courses he teaches, and the projects he builds for the wider wine community.

The app is built for three audiences. First, wine producers, importers, and hospitality businesses who need a trusted consultant for sensory evaluation, brand strategy, staff training, or list curation. Second, journalists, educators, and fellow judges seeking a verified record of his credentials, speaking engagements, and academic research. Third, curious readers and students who want to understand wine through the lens of someone who tastes, writes about, and teaches it professionally across Europe and the Mediterranean.

Michalis is a member of the Circle of Wine Writers, a certified sommelier, and a jury member at international competitions including the Berliner Wine Trophy, the Frankfurt International Trophy, the Lyon International Wine Competition, and the Cyprus Wine Competition. He is the founder of the Oenognosia media platform and the Cyprus Wine Expo, and he is currently developing StudyWine.ai, an AI-powered wine education platform.

This site is designed and maintained by Michalis and his studio in Nicosia, Cyprus. It is intentionally editorial in tone — closer to a monograph than a conventional CV — so that the substance of the work, rather than its packaging, does the talking.
